Pakistan Customs Seizes $56,500 Crystal Meth Shipment at Jinnah International Terminal

Pakistan Customs recently intercepted a smuggling attempt at Jinnah International Terminal, seizing a parcel containing crystal methamphetamine at the International Mail Office.

Acting on a tip-off, Customs officials discovered the parcel disguised as books, which was being sent from Hyderabad to Riyadh under the name Mujahid Javed. Authorities found one kilogram of crystal meth hidden within the package, valued at approximately $56,500 in the international market.

In a separate operation, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested two women at Karachi Airport who were heading to Saudi Arabia under the guise of performing Umrah. The women, identified as Patil Khatoon and Subhana, were detained after they were unable to provide essential travel documents, including hotel reservations and sufficient funds for their trip.

Investigations revealed that Subhana’s son had been living illegally in Saudi Arabia since traveling there on an Umrah visa in 2022. The FIA confirmed that her son is also involved in begging, and further details are being gathered.

The two women have been transferred to the Anti-Human Smuggling Circle in Karachi for further legal action, and investigations are ongoing.
