In a recent crackdown on drug trafficking in the Dominican Republic, law enforcement officials have successfully intercepted and seized 150 packages of suspected cocaine. The operation, which unfolded in the picturesque town of Azua, not only led to the confiscation of drugs but also the apprehension of several individuals connected to the narcotics trade.
The authorities, including members of the Dirección Central Antinarcóticos (DICAN), executed a well-coordinated raid resulting in the capture of the contraband. Alongside the drug packages, two rifles were also seized, highlighting the potentially dangerous nature of these operations.
Four men, two of whom are foreigners, were detained during the operation. This event marks yet another effort by local law enforcement to curb the flow of drugs through the region.
Interestingly, this seizure adds to a significant haul from the previous week, where over 2000 kilos of cocaine were confiscated. It’s like the local police are playing a high-stakes game of hide and seek, but with much higher consequences.
