In a operation against drug trafficking the Brazilian authorities seized approximately 679 kg of marijuana in the rural region of Guaíra, Paraná. The operation, known as Operation Protector, was led by the Paraná Military Police’s Border Battalion (BPFron) in collaboration with the Federal Police’s NEPOM unit.

On Thursday, October 31, while patrolling the area, officers spotted an abandoned vehicle hidden within a crop field. Upon inspection, they found numerous large packages of marijuana inside the vehicle. At the time of the discovery, no suspects were present.
Following the seizure, both the vehicle and drugs were transported to the Federal Police station in Guaíra for further investigation and legal action. The seized marijuana is estimated to have a street value of around $140,000 USD, delivering a substantial blow to local drug trafficking operations.
This seizure is part of ongoing efforts by Brazilian law enforcement to curb drug trafficking along the border regions, where rural and remote areas are frequently used for illegal activities.
