On October 25, 2024, the Federal Police of Brazil seized 414.3 kg of cocaine in Aparecida do Taboado, MS. The operation took place during routine inspections aimed at combating drug trafficking, smuggling, and other related crimes.
During the inspection, police stopped a truck transporting scrap metal. The load was improperly secured and exceeded height limits. The truck driver displayed extreme nervousness and could not clearly answer basic questions about his journey, vehicle, and cargo.
Upon inspecting the vehicle, officers discovered signs of tampering on the lower rear floor of the semi-trailer. Using a drill, they found a white powder that resembled cocaine.
After removing the scrap metal with heavy machinery, police uncovered a hidden compartment that matched the tampering signs. Inside this compartment, they found multiple bricks of cocaine, totaling 414.3 kg. The investigation continues as authorities work to identify the source and intended destination of the drugs.
