A major drug bust took place at the Port of Salvador on Tuesday afternoon (October 5) when Brazilian Federal Police and the Federal Revenue Service intercepted 969 kilograms of cocaine, which were set to be shipped to Belgium.
The drug was cleverly hidden within a shipment of minerals. Upon inspecting a container, agents discovered large bundles of cocaine, neatly tied up with ropes. The operation marks a significant blow to international drug trafficking networks.
Following the seizure, the cocaine was transferred to the Federal Police headquarters, where further investigations will be carried out to identify the individuals behind this sophisticated smuggling attempt. No arrests were made during the operation, but authorities are continuing their efforts to unravel the full scope of the operation.
